Package Manager
The use of Package Manager can provide a number of very specific benefits to the management and control of inserts and packages. These include:
- Complete version control
- Accuracy Accountability and Control
- Right Product on the right truck
- Support for greater zoning control
Coupled with MTC’s Insert Manager, this module extends control of inserts to the inserter or collator pocket. Package information is typically provided by interfaces with planning systems like BURT or SAM. These proven interfaces eliminate any error prone data entry and provide transactions to the sophisticated replenishment routines that manage material handlers and their supplying inserts to the inserters.
User configuration parameters support an insert staging strategy or an insert pulling strategy. Coupled with insert order statuses like Make Ready and Start Production, flow is optimized for any operation. Confirmation of delivering the right insert to the right location is confirmed in real-time using radio frequency (RF) technology.
In addition to package information, additional interface transactions to BURT and SAM provide trip, drop and carrier level manifests for the distribution of packaged inserts
to remote distribution centers. Whether your delivery method incorporates pallets, carts, or other material handling devices, Package Manager directs RF loading of the right packages to the right trucks.
Creating a correct package is as important as delivering it to the right location. Package Manager provides Quality Control audit functionality that can be invoked during Make Ready and Production periods.
