You expect reliability and satisfaction from your automated equipment and HK Systems has assembled comprehensive maintenance programs to provide both.
HK Systems’ service technicians have the knowledge and experience in the industry to perform services on HK Systems’ manufactured automated equipment,
as well as automated equipment manufactured by Eaton-Kenway, HEI, P&H, Interlake, Hartman, AGV Products, Egemin, Murata, Swisslog, Dematic, Daifuku, Eskay and others.
Scheduled Maintenance Services:
Standard Equipment Preventative Maintenance Services
Our standard maintenance programs address the most basic needs of automated equipment. The maintenance program ensures that the equipment is properly adjusted and lubricated at regular intervals. In the typical day-to-day operation of a given facility, the customer’s maintenance staff is pulled in all different directions. Often times basic preventative maintenance is overlooked until it is just too late and major components begin to fail. It is no secret that preventative maintenance is the best way to get the most life out of automated material handling equipment. Because of the breadth of experience of the typical HK field technician, site visits often have an additional benefit in providing minor training and basic system familiarity for the customer’s own maintenance staff. It is a good opportunity to ask specific questions concerning the equipment.
Standard program options are available, as well as custom built programs which are designed to respond to customer-specific maintenance needs and schedules.
Equipment Audit and Inspection
The primary purpose of an on-site audit/inspection is to identify recommendations that will improve the performance of the system and improve the equipment’s reliability.
This audit/inspection will also identify the obsolete components (if any) in the system which may result in the system being vulnerable to an extended period of downtime,
and will also determine the maintainability of the system.
An Audit and Inspection includes the following:
- Comprehensive visual inspection of the equipment.
- Hands-on evaluation of the electrical controls.
- Visual inspection of wheels and rails.
- Technician report to include all findings and recommendations.
Equipment Structural Inspection
Most all equipment is supported and held together by means of a mechanical structure. Depending upon the environment and service of the equipment,
the structure can be exposed to high stresses, cyclic loads, and harsh conditions.
These conditions are seen in the mechanical structures on storage and retrieval machines (SRMs).
Safety-minded companies employ regular and rigorous structural inspections on equipment in service.
Experienced staff is needed to inspect and repair the mechanical structures.
HK Systems employs an inspection staff skilled in welding fabrication of components such as SRM masts, bases, and lift carriages.
This staff has field experience, understands material failures and the causes thereof. All structural inspections are conducted by the American Welding Society as Certified Welding Inspectors. Inspection staff has immediate access to engineering design staff as needed to review inspection findings and repair procedures.
HK structural inspections include:
- Comprehensive visual inspection of the complete structure.
- Comprehensive visual examination of all accessible welds on the structure.
- Any areas found to be questionable as a result of the visual inspection will be tested with dye penetrate to validate visual inspection concerns.
- Inspection report to include findings and recommendations.
